Distribution Support Services
When you partner with CLG, you receive more than just simple warehousing. We also offer the very latest in technology, reporting and quality control measures in the industry. Specifically, CLG's Distribution Support Services (DSS) include general warehouse services, kitting, returnables management, packaging, rework and vendor managed inventory. We then go one step further in managing inventory and supply chain with our Warehouse Management System (WMS). This advanced system allows us to track and report inventory with Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID), so you know what you have and where it is located. CLG can also integrate data with any customer system through a wide variety of communication methods and file formats (EDI, Web Services, XML, FTP, SMTP, IDoc, delimited or flat file, etc). Additionally, our cTECs system, a milestone tracking tool, gives you performance statics of on-time, late or missed pick-ups and deliveries. Upon arrival, inventory is carefully inspected and documented within detailed reporting documents that are readily accessible for quality control. Once inventoried, CLG will palletize, box, label or kit products as deemed necessary for the next stage in the supply chain.

- Dedicated and Shared Warehousing
CLG's Dedicated Warehousing Services are designed to provide our customers with fixed fees for storage, handling, and other value added services regardless of actual usage of space and labor. This arrangement frees up capital and human resources so that companies are able to invest in their core business and reduce their investment of fixed assets in their distribution network. It also allows for accurate budgeting of costs, strict monitoring of service and reliability. The end result is reduced cost and peace of mind.
- Rail Served Facilities
Several of CLG’s warehouses are rail served and proximate to intermodal rail facilities, major ports, and roadways providing multi-modal flexibility in the event of capacity shortages, fuel cost fluctuations, and emergencies. Clients can also take advantage of heavy loading containers at CLG’s port locations.
- Packing, Labeling and Recouping Services
CLG can package customer product for desired brand identity and protection during shipment by placing it into an appropriate container and marking and labeling with unique customer brand identity and shipping destination data. CLG can also apply special markings and/or labels for accurate picking and replenishment. Special shipping labels can also be created and applied to corrugate boxes, pallets, drums, crates or any other items as needed for order tracking and tracing by the customer.
- Material Inspection and Quality Control
CLG’s staff will work with clients to establish stringent specifications and processes to ensure materials are in compliance with all required standards. CLG can perform simple quality control tests and set up sample boards to facilitate this process.
- Advanced Data Integration Capabilities
Allows CLG to integrate diverse systems running on different applications. It also automates the data interactions between different systems and supports standard data formats (such as EDI, XML, TXT), custom data formats, and a wide range of data base formats.
- Cross Dock Services
CLG helps it's clients reduce overall inventory investment and expensive storage space requirements through cross-docking operations, which involve redirecting certain selected incoming shipments so they may be sorted, packed, and shipped to their final destination with minimal handling and storage time in the distribution centers.
- CKD and SKD Services
-CLG’s CKD (Completely knocked down) programs allow manufacturers to assemble overseas in a low volume, low cost scenario by procuring parts locally that set together with the CKD lots. The lots are packaged and shipped in engineered pack solutions and the typical bill of material includes components broken down into their primary forms. The product derivatives are typically low and lot set size is constant.
-CLG’s SKD (Semi Knocked down) programs are similar to the CKD programs but with a greater degree of built up component assemblies. Typical lots consist of a higher level of completion to allow for less set up at the assembler location overseas. The SKD programs are usually done on lower volume applications or in the start up phase only of the assembly facility
