CLG Expand National Reach in Strategic Partnership

HOUSTON and SAVANNAH, Ga., March 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Port Logistics Group, the nation's leading provider of gateway logistics services, and Coastal Logistics Group, Inc. (CLG), a leading Southeast logistics provider, today announced a partnership that extends geographic reach and service offerings for both companies.

The partnership will allow the companies to offer complete logistics solutions at all major U.S. import and export gateways.  Port Logistics Group and its partners operate more than 4 million square feet of warehouse space in and around the ports of New York/New Jersey, LA/Long Beach, and Seattle.  Coastal Logistics Group, Inc. serves the Southeast gateway through locations in Savannah, Norfolk and Memphis.

Coastal Logistics Group, Inc. Rolls Up Its Sleeves

The employees at Coastal Logistics Group, Inc.(CLG) rolled up their sleeves at their Corporate Headquarters on Thursday, March 23rd for a company blood drive.   CLG partners with The Blood Alliance to help ensure that the community has an ample supply of blood to meet the needs of local patients.

 The Blood Alliance drives one of its mobile units to CLG giving the employees the freedom to give blood throughout the day. “I look forward to giving every time the bus arrives, because I know I’m doing my part to save a life.”, said Debbie Kennedy - CLG Key Account Manager.  The event generated 7 pints of blood and will save the lives of 21 citizens in the Savannah area. 
 
“CLG is proud to support the growth and development of the communities where we operate,” said Chad Barrow, President - Coastal Logistics Group, Inc. “This event is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to assist the local Savannah bank and to generate awareness about blood donations.”

Coastal Logistics Group, Inc. Expands Executive Team

Coastal Logistics Group, Inc. (CLG) is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. William Stankiewicz as Vice President of Operations and Sales for its Logistics Division.  Bill has 25 years of experience in warehouse, distribution, and transportation management and 15 years in Business Development.  Bill also has exceptional experience and skills working directly with the Federal and State Regulatory Inspectors with a focus on OSHA Compliance, DEA Compliance, Food Safety Standards, Haz Mat regulations and ISO standards. 

Bill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Personnel Management from Depaul University and is involved in several industry associations such as the IWLA, CSCMP, DCA, WERC and the Southeastern Warehouse Association.  He recently moved to Savannah with his wife Donna.

Coastal Logistics Group, Inc. Rolls Up Its Sleeves

Coastal Logistics Group, Inc. (CLG) is proud to announce James McCutchen as the 2011 Anchor Award recipient.   This award is given annually to an employee for their outstanding performance throughout the year.

James McCutchen is a major component to the daily operations in the Savannah corporate facility.  As a Warehouse Supervisor, he oversees the inbound and outbound flow for both the rail and over the road product on several key accounts.  “James is the type of employee every manager wants on his team.  He is consistently going above and beyond the quality of work expected and shows his responsibility and reliability on a daily basis.”, said Shane Chapman, CLG Savannah Operations Manager.

Each year employees of CLG cast their vote to determine which peer will be the receiver of this prestigious award. As the Anchor Award was presented at the first quarterly meeting of this year, employees applauded with satisfaction knowing they had a hand in seeing their friend and co-worker recognized.  “James is truly a valued employee.  We are so glad he is part of the CLG family.”  Said Chad Barrow, President of CLG.

500 and Counting!

CLG is proud to announce the arrival of the 500th rail car into it’s 50 Sonny Perdue facility in Savannah, Georgia.  Rail service has only been in place for 8 months at CLG and the volumes are increasing daily.  There is still capacity to grow with existing infrastructure but with new customer’s coming on board each month,  CLG anticipates adding a second rail spur to accommodate additional needs in 2012. 

Rail cargo remains strong throughout the Southeast and CLG has positioned itself to service the market’s need.  With it’s close proximity to the GPA’s Garden City Terminal and Norfolk Southern’s switch yard as well as it’s robust IT capabilities, CLG is poised to add tremendous value to rail shippers.
